A pedestrian who was standing outside of her vehicle on I-4 was struck and killed by a vehicle this morning.
The incident took place near mile marker 73 around 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a 25-year-old woman from Venezuela was traveling westbound in a 2010 Toyota Prius.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was standing near her vehicle while it was parked along the shoulder of the road.
The pedestrian allegedly walked into the path of the vehicle for unknown reasons, according to the report.
The front of the Prius struck the passenger and she was pronounced deceased on the scene.
At the time of the report on Wednesday morning, authorities had not positively identified the woman who was killed.
The crash remains under investigation, according to FHP.
