An Orlando man who was arrested after slashing a carjacking victim with a box cutter, confessed to police about a murder he committed days earlier.
On Sunday morning around 10 a.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an armed carjacking in the area of Texas Avenue and Americana Boulevard.
According to an OCSO report, the suspect, 33-year-old Alexander Acs, slashed the victim with a box cutter.
The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive.
After Acs was located and detained, he was taken to OCSO headquarters where detectives proceeded to interview him in regards to the carjacking.
During that interview, Acs confessed to the carjacking and stated that he killed someone days prior to the incident. Acs directed detectives to the 4400 block of S. Rio Grande Ave., where the body of the victim was located.
Acs told detectives the murder occurred last week. Because of the time that had passed, the victim in this case has not yet been positively identified, according to the sheriff’s office report.
Acs was booked into the Orange County Jail on Monday morning and charged with first degree murder. According to the report, detectives are expected to add the attempted murder and robbery/carjacking charges.
The sheriff’s office says it will release the name of the homicide victim after obtaining identification verification.
