Habanero’s Mexican Grill was forced to temporarily close its east Orlando location last week after a failed health inspection.
According to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the business, which is located at 12185 Collegiate Way, was forced to close after a health inspector visited the site on Friday, February 4.
The report shows one high priority violation for the presence of live, small flying insects in the kitchen, food preparation area, food storage area, and bar. A total of 20 flying insects were found under the dish machine drain and four flying insects were found around condiments.
Upon reexamination the same day, additional violations were found, and the insects remained. During a third inspection on Monday, February 7, no violations were observed.
