The city of Orlando will host a public meeting to provide details as to the design of the final segment of the new Downtown Loop multiuse trail.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, March 10, beginning at 5 p.m. at Venture X Downtown Orlando, which is located at 100 East Pine Street, Suite #110. The meeting will allow the public to provide input on the final segment of the new 8.5-mile, Downtown Loop.
When finished, the loop will provide residents with a car-free alternative to access shopping, dining, entertainment, parks, offices, and services.
The loop is comprised of off-street bikeways and will connect more than a dozen neighborhoods. It will also connect to multiple existing walkways and paths, including the Orlando Urban Trail, Lake Underhill Path, and Cady Way Trail, to name a few.
According to city officials, the last few miles of the Downtown Loop are currently in design and will add a mix of sidewalk level and street level cycle tracks and wide sidewalks along portions of Washington Street, Magnolia Avenue, Pine Street, Eola Drive, and Summerlin Avenue.
