Orlando man killed after turning into path of vehicle

An Orlando man was killed after his vehicle was struck while he was making a left turn.

The accident took place on Wednesday evening around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Americana Boulevard and Arpana Drive.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a sedan being driven by a 49-year-old Orlando man was stopped at the stop sign facing north on Arpana Drive. The man attempted to make a left turn and travel west on Americana Boulevard when he turned into the direct path of another sedan being driven by a 21-year-old Orlando man.

The front of the second vehicle struck the driver’s side of the man’s vehicle.

The 49-year-old man was transported to Orlando Health where he later died of his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, according to FHP. The names of the drivers have not been released, per FHP policy.
