A pedestrian was killed early this morning after being struck by a car on US Hwy 192.
The accident took place around 12:57 a.m. on Thursday night near the intersection of US Hwy 192 and Blake Boulevard. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 23-year-old Orlando man was driving a 2016 Nissan Sentra eastbound on US Highway 192.
An unidentified pedestrian who was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes from north to south was struck by the Sentra. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The driver continued eastbound, made a u-turn, and traveled westbound to see what had been struck. Upon arrival, the driver saw law enforcement on the scene and pulled into a parking lot where Osceola Sheriff’s Office deputies made contact with him.
The crash remains under investigation, and the name of the deceased has not been released, per FHP policy.
