A 47-year-old woman visiting Orlando from the United Kingdom with her husband and son was killed in a fatal accident along Orange Blossom Trail this afternoon.
The accident took place around 1 p.m. today near the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and Osceola Polk Line Road. The woman, who was from Horten Heath in Hampshire, England, was riding as a passenger with her 13-year-old son in a 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage being driven by her 53-year-old husband.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, the family was traveling northbound on Orange Blossom Trail when they attempted to make a left turn to travel west on Osceola Polk Line Road.
The vehicle entered the direct path of a 2016 Ford F-150 that was traveling southbound. The pickup truck, which was being driven by a 32-year-old woman from Meadow, New York, collided with the right side of the Mitsubishi.
The father and son received minor injuries from the crash. The mother was transported to Osceola Regional Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The crash currently remains under investigation and the names of those involved have not been released, per FHP policy.
