Law enforcement authorities are searching for a driver who used his box truck to drive another vehicle off the road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place near mile marker 18 on State Road 528 on Friday morning around 7:30 a.m.

A 33-year-old Apopka man was driving a 2018 Kenworth Semi-truck eastbound on the highway and, as he was approaching Innovation Way in the outside lane, he says he was tailgated by a white box truck.

The box truck was being driven by a Hispanic male with a neck tattoo. The man was wearing a black shirt.

The semi-truck driver changed lanes to allow the box truck to pass. After the box truck passed, it changed lanes and stopped directly in front of the semi-truck. The semi-truck driver over-corrected while braking and traveled off the roadway.

The semi-truck then struck the guardrail, overturned and landed on its side. No physical contact was made between the semi-truck and the box truck, according to the FHP report.

The box truck fled the scene eastbound on SR 528.

The driver of the semi-truck was transported to ORMC with minor injuries.

Anyone with information about the identity of the man driving the box truck should contact FHP at 407-737-2213 or CRIMELINE.

The crash remains under investigation.
