48-year-old Windermere man dies after vehicle strikes support beam on SR 429

A 48-year-old Windermere man was killed on Wednesday morning after his vehicle struck a concrete support beam on State Road 429.

According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 7:49 a.m. this morning near mile marker 15 on the highway.

The man, who has not been identified per FHP policy, was driving a 2015 GMC pickup truck northbound on SR 429.

For reasons unknown, the vehicle left the roadway and struck the bridge support beam near mile marker 15.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene, according to FHP.
