One dead, two in hospital after officer-involved shooting at Kissimmee Target

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says one individual was killed and two others were hospitalized after deputies were involved in a shooting with four suspects at a local Target.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 27, near the Target located at 4795 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.

According to authorities, during the apprehension of the four suspects, two deputies discharged their firearms, killing one of the individuals. In addition to two others that were transported to a local hospital, another suspect was detained on the scene.

The sheriff’s office says that all deputies involved in the shooting are in good health, and that Sheriff Marcos Lopez has contacted the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to conduct an investigation into the use of force used by the deputies.

“The sheriff’s office is fully cooperative and welcomes the independent investigation,” reads a press release from OCSO.

The names and all identifiable information of the deputies involved in the shooting are being protected by Marsy’s Law and will not be released, according to the sheriff’s office.
