Charles William Ulmer

Charles “Rex” Ulmer, 75, passed on to his eternal rest on May 13, 2022, in Orlando, Florida. He was born on January 9, 1947, in Winnsboro, Louisiana located in Franklin Parish from parents Esther “Maxine” and William “Louis” Ulmer.

Rex served in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years, 11 months, and 5 days. He retired as a Senior Master Seargent (E-8) and raised his only daughter, Cynthia, as a single parent. He worked alongside his father and two brothers as a sharecropper before joining the military. Hobbies over his lifetime included playing the guitar, cooking and enjoying good food, and collecting music from his favorite artist, Willie Nelson. He also loved spending time with his family and close friends, sharing stories from his past.

Rex leaves to cherish the memories of life; Daughter, Cynthia Versluis (and husband Shawn Versluis); Grand-Daughters, Isla and Shae Versluis; as well as extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Rex is preceded in death by his parents. Esther “Maxine” and William “Louie” Ulmer; and brothers, Luther and Alan Ulmer.
