The city of Orlando is partnering with a nonprofit organization to offer residents the ability to join a solar co-op for group purchase of home solar panel installations.
Solar United Neighbors will host an information session about the new Orlando Solar Co-Op on Thursday, May 26, from 6 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. online. Anyone may register using the Orlando Solar Co-Op registration page.
The informational program will teach the basics on how solar works, how it saves money, how it promotes energy independence, and how it creates new jobs and reduces pollution, according to event organizers. In addition, attendees will learn how to join the co-op and how the co-op will help guide and inform them through the transition to solar.
In addition, participants will learn the economic benefits of installing solar through bulk-purchase by co-op.
