41-year-old man receives 25-year sentence for producing, distributing sexual photos of children, infants

A 41-year-old Winter Park man was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to producing sexually explicit images of children and infants and distributing the images over the internet.

On Wednesday, May 25, United States District Judge Wendy Berger sentenced Kelly Brown to spend 25 years behind bars for crimes he committed between June and July 2021.

During those months, Brown admitted to producing several sexually explicit images depicting two young children. On July 19, 2021, Brown distributed some of the images over the internet using a web-based chat application.

The next day, FBI agents approached Brown near his residence.

During an interview with FBI agents, Brown admitted that he had taken the contraband images of the two children using his smart phone at his residence during the months of June and July 2021.

Brown also attested to the fact that he distributed those images over the internet.

A forensic analysis of Brown’s smart phone and data card revealed 151 videos and 67 images depicting the sexual abuse of children, including infants.

According to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, Brown pled guilty on October 19, 2021.

In addition to his 25 year sentence, Brown will serve a life term of supervised release, must register as a sex offender, and will forfeit all electronic devices that were used to commit his criminal offenses.
