Orange County police are asking the public for any information to help catch those responsible for the shooting death of a 36-year-old Apopka man.
On Friday, May 27, around 8:16 p.m., deputies responded to the 600 block of East 13th Street regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a male victim in his 30s who had been shot. The man was later identified as 36-year-old Albert Gonzalez, Jr. of Apopka.
Gonzalez was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived and is currently being sought by authorities. If you have any information regarding the shooting, contact Crimeline at 800-423-8477.
Friends and family have taken to social media to mourn the loss of Gonzalez, who graduated from Apopka High School and was self-employed.
“May God always be with you, you were my best friend and the one I always told my problems too and always helped me when I needed it,” reads a post from Yvette Trejo, one of Gonzalez’s cousins.
The family and friends and have established a GoFundMe campaign to help with charity costs.
