The former employer of a 42-year-old Osteen man who was killed in a hit-and-run has doubled the reward being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.
Clint Welch was hit and killed in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 22, by an older model Chevrolet or Dodge pick-up truck with white and green neon lights emanating from underneath.
Authorities believe the collision occurred between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. that morning.
On Tuesday, friends and former coworkers gathered to celebrate the life of Welch at Gators Riverside Grille in Sanford, where he worked as a cook.
The owners of the restaurant are now offering a $10,000 REWARD for information leading to a conviction.
“His family and friends deserve and want answers. We all understand fear makes you do crazy things and that’s probably why this person left. Now it’s time to stand up and turn yourself in or if you know who it is stop protecting them,” reads a post from the restaurant’s Facebook page.
