The National Hurricane Center is warning Central Florida residents to prepare for landfall for the season’s first tropical storm.
Tropical Cyclone One is projected to make landfall in Central Florida by Saturday morning, according to a forecast model from the National Weather Service’s National Hurricane Center.
According to the model, the cyclone will make landfall around 7 a.m. on Saturday, pass through the state over the course of 12 hours, and reemerge in the Atlantic Ocean by Saturday evening and early Sunday morning.
Currently, Tropical Cyclone One has sustained winds of 40 mph and is moving northeast at 5 mph.
