Gloria Mercedes Rivera Ortiz

Gloria Mercedes Rivera Ortiz, 87, of Kissimmee, FL passed away on May 30, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 17, 1934 to Jesus and Tomasa Rivera-Luciano in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. She was of the Catholic Faith and a loving homemaker. When Gloria came to the United States, she was filled with purpose as she had left her home due to political strife and the need to create better opportunities for her children. Her immense bravery, perseverance, and love for her family not only built the foundation for a better life for her children but also launched the futures of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gloria’s legacy will live on in her loving family; daughter, Maggie Guillen-Lugo of Orlando, FL; sons, Luis Guillen and Julio Guillen both of Kissimmee, FL; Sister, Tila Daniel of NY. Her legacy will also continue in her 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday June 2, 2022 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM with a funeral service at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow on Friday June 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery in Kissimmee. Arrangements are under the care of Funeraria Porta Coeli , 2801 E. Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee, FL 34743.
