Alice Gilliard

Alice Gilliard, 91, of Orlando, departed this life on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Alice was born on January 15, 1931 in LaGrange, GA to the late Gertrude and Otis Smith, Sr. Professionally, Alice worked as a manager of Macy’s Department Store in New York for several years. She had a passion for serving people. She was an active and faithful member of the Kingdom Baptist Church in New York until she relocated to Florida.

Alice was a woman of great wisdom. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all of her family to follow. Her memories will live on in our hearts. She loved her family and showed love to everyone. Ms. Alice was and will continue to be an inspiration to us all for living life in an exemplary way. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Alice leaves to cherish her memories to: a loving daughter, Karen Reid; 2 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, church family and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 4-6 PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, 12:00 Noon at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando. 811 North Powers Drive Orlando, Florida
