Samuel Thompson Barnes III

Samuel “Sam” Thompson Barnes, III passed away on November 26, 2021 at the age of 76 in Orlando, Florida.

A lifelong musician and performer, Sam may be remembered as the front man for the band Mother’s Choice at Apple Annie’s on Church Street Station from 1977-1983, as well as stints at Sea World, Florida Festival, and as a solo performer at Fort Wilderness in Disney World for almost 20 years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a highly successful realtor in his later years, as well as a devoted father and grandfather, sci-fi fantasy fan and avid wood worker.

Sam’s pride and joy could be found in his family, including his wife, Susan (also a member of Mother’s Choice); his three daughters, Stephanie, Samantha and Sara; and his three grandchildren, Korey, Lucy and Sammy. He is also survived by his stepmother, Penny; his brothers, David and Jim; his sisters, Rebecca, Elaine and Diane; and countless nieces and nephews.

Sam’s Celebration of Life is Saturday June, 18th at noon. If interested in attending, please contact the family.
