Longwood Police arrested a 39-year-old man this week after he allegedly attempted to entice a 13-year-old girl into his vehicle.

On Tuesday, the Longwood Police Department announced the arrest of Colt Christopher Beard in connection with two incidents involving a teenage girl.

According to the department, on Friday, June 17, a woman called to report that an unknown, white male driving a white Nissan Maxima had stopped in front of her residence in Longwood. The woman said the man attempted to entice her 13-year-old daughter into his vehicle before she interrupted the interaction.

The subject fled the scene at the time.

Police say that an area patrol was generated and police officers increased their patrols.

On Monday, June 20, the woman called police again to complain that the same man had returned and driven by her residence. Longwood Police officers responded to the area and conducted extensive patrols to locate the vehicle and driver.

The suspect was eventually identified as Beard and he was arrested on a charge of interference with child custody.
