Charlie Morgan, Jr. was born in Albany, Georgia to the late Mr. James Williams and the late Mrs. Evelina Porter. He accepted Christ at a young age and worshipped regularly at both Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church both in Lake Monroe, Florida.
He graduated from Crooms High School and lived most of his life in the Bookertown area where he watched residents come and go, For a number of years he served as president of the Bookertown Community Association, always seeking ways to improve the community. While a member of the National Historical Society he wrote memoirs of his life’s experiences and observations in the community in a book entitled, “Bookertown – – A Journey To The Past”.
Mr. Morgan served two years in the US Army and was also employed in the construction industry. He was a dedicated family man who loved who loved dearly his children and grandchildren.
Left to cherish their memories are his three children, son, Alonzo Taylor and daughters, Pamela Brown and Belinda Jackson; six grandchildren, Kenya, Kenyon, Shana, Candice, Angel, and Timothy; two sisters, Mary Harris and Mayetta Williams; one brother, Phillip Williams; one aunt, Louthenia Mitchell; a cousin ‘just like a brother’, Reginald Campbell; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
