Earl Thomas Mitchell, 88, of Winter Springs, Florida, passed away on June 25, 2022. Earl was born in Forty Fort, Pennsylvania on June 13, 1934 to Earl Talbot Mitchell and Elizabeth Jane (Sayes) Mitchell.
Earl served as an MP in the Army during the post-Korean War era. He married Beverly Lucarella in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on July 3, 1963. The marriage was blessed with two children. Earl retired after he worked 25 years for the American Automobile Association as a District/Regional Manager. He coached many of his children’s soccer teams and enjoyed traveling with his family. After their children were grown, Earl and Beverly traveled throughout the United States and abroad, including many cruises and trips in their travel trailer. Earl also loved his border collies, horses, a good soccer match, attending antique car shows, researching and documenting all he could about family history, reading Sherlock Holmes, watching PBS British mysteries, and seeing James Bond and Harry Potter movies.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Shirley Gregory, and his daughter from a previous marriage Heidi (Human) Valjean. He is survived by his wife, son Todd Mitchell (Monica), daughter Michele Mitchell, granddaughters Amanda and Emily Mitchell, Heidi’s sons Griffin Janes (Kristina) and Luther Valjean, and other family and friends.
