The Orlando Police Department unveiled a new Pride Patrol vehicle design in honor of the 49 lives that were lost during the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting.

The OPD LGBTQ+ Liaison and Ally Officers introduced the vehicle alongside the department’s next chief, Eric Smith on Thursday, June 30 outside of police headquarters.

“This new Pride Patrol Vehicle serves as a symbol of our unwavering support for our LGBTQ+ members and of our commitment to everyone’s safety in an #OrlandoUnited,” reads an OPD social media post.

The new vehicle features multi-colored, rainbow stripes along the quarter panels and doors, as well as a multi-colored heart. The phrase “In remembrance of the 49” is written next to the heart.
