39-year-old Orlando woman killed after struck by vehicle, thrown into oncoming traffic

A 39-year-old Orlando woman was killed after she was struck by a vehicle on Colonial Drive and thrown into oncoming traffic.

The fatal accident took place on Saturday, July 2 around 9:13 p.m. near the intersection of E Colonial Drive and Sherman Street. According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was walking from south to north across the eastbound lanes of the highway when she was struck by a 2002 Ford F-250 that was being driven by a 26-year-old Orlando man.

After she was struck, the woman was propelled into the westbound lanes of Colonial Drive, where she was struck by a 2015 Honda Accord being driven by a 25-year-old Orlando man.

The woman was pronounced deceased on the scene. Both drivers remained on scene and neither was injured, according to the FHP report.
