The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has located and arrested a man who allegedly flagged down an 85-year-old woman to ask for gas money before reaching into her vehicle and snatching a gold necklace.
According to the sheriff’s office, the incident took place on Wednesday, June 29, around the area of Royal Palm Drive and San Blas Avenue in Kissimmee. Police say that two male suspects in a Toyota Camry followed the 85-year-old woman from a closed bank located in the Buenaventura Lakes area.
Once in the area of Royal Palm Drive, the suspects drove up beside the victim’s vehicle and flagged her down for help. The woman pulled over and one of the male suspects approached her window and asked for money for gas.
According to police, during their conversation, the male suspect reached into the woman’s vehicle and snatched a gold necklace that was hanging around her neck, before returning to the Camry.
During their investigation, detectives identified one of the suspects as 30-year-old Alejandro Torres-Rosado. Torres-Rosado was located and arrested.
