A Popeyes in Kissimmee was temporarily shut down after a health inspector found multiple roaches and flying insects during a visit to the restaurant last week.
According to a report by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the Popeyes located at 7541 W Highway 192 in Kissimmee was shut down on Tuesday, June 28 after a health inspector cited 10 health code violations, including four considered high priority.
During the inspection, the report indicates that dozens of flying insects were seen around the bar, kitchen, food storage, and food preparation areas. Additionally, the inspector noted around 10 roaches in different areas around the kitchen.
The restaurant was permitted to reopen the following day after only eight violations remained.
