Backpack sewing class at Orlando Public Library

The Orange County Library System will begin a multi-part backpack sewing class in downtown Orlando this weekend.

The four-part series will begin on Sunday, July 10, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Orlando Public Library, which is located at 101 E Central Boulevard.

The class will teach students how to sew a backpack from a selection of three styles. Students are required to provide their own fabric, which may include cotton, lightweight denim, cotton blends, and other types.

Students must be able to wind a bobbin, thread a sewing machine, change stitch selections, and read patterns and cut fabric, according to the library.

Registration with a library card is required, as seats are limited. To register, call 407-835-7323.
