A 21-year-old Kissimmee man was killed after his motorcycle struck the back of a stopped vehicle.
The incident took place around 4:47 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, near the intersection of Simpson Road and Marisol Loop. According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was riding a 2009 Suzuki GSX southbound on Simpson Road in the outside lane.
An 82-year-old Kissimmee man who was in a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander, was stopped on Simpson Road in the outside lane.
As the motorcycle approached, the rider failed to stop and, as a result, struck the back of the SUV and was thrown from the motorcycle.
Both the rider and the driver of the SUV were transported to the Osceola Regional Medical Center. The rider was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The 82-year-old man sustained minor injuries.
