16-year-old girl arrested after putting pillow on sister to ‘quiet her down,’ killing her

A 16-year-old Altamonte Springs girl was arrested on manslaughter charges after she allegedly placed a pillow on her sibling to quiet her that resulted in the child’s death.

According to the Altamonte Springs Police Department, on Friday, July 15, officers responded to a home on Raymond Avenue in reference to a call about an unresponsive juvenile. Upon arrival, emergency personnel transported the girl to the hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

During an investigation into the matter, detectives were told that the victim’s sister, Charlise Bell, had placed a pillow over her sister to “quiet her down.”

According to detectives, Bell left the room and when she returned, her sister was unresponsive.

After a series of interviews, detectives found probable cause to arrest Bell, charging her with manslaughter.
