Franklin R. Dupont Sr. (89), of St. Cloud, FL passed away on July 12, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Loretta Jean Dupont. They shared 67 years of marriage together. Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Patrick and Jane Dupont.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Mott, Helen Wilson, and three brothers Patrick, Thomas, and Joseph Dupont. He graduated from Diman Regional Vocational High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Baltimore. Following his time in the navy, he was employed as a corrections officer for the Mass Department of Corrections. Upon retiring, he moved from Swansea, MA to St. Cloud, FL where he lived with his wife for 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 80 and VFW Post 3227.
He enjoyed being with his family, cooking, dancing, playing cards, and being a Boston sports fan. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. He was survived by his wife Loretta and their four children; Nancy Dupont Laliberte of St. Cloud FL, Franklin R. Dupont Jr. and his wife Lori of Swansea, MA, Sandra Dupont Aitkens and her husband Charles of St. Cloud, FL, and Thomas S. Dupont and his wife Bonnie of St. Cloud, FL. He had seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00pm at Fisk Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.
A funeral mass will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas in St. Cloud, Florida at 10:00am on July 20, 2022. Franklin will be laid to rest at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Saint Cloud, Florida.
