39-year-old father suspected of killing 4-year-old daughter, critically injuring 12-year-old and himself

Longwood police believe that a 39-year-old father is responsible for killing his 4-year-old daughter, as well as critically injuring his 12-year-old daughter and himself at their home on Thursday morning.

Longwood Police Department provided a third update on the case this afternoon, after detailing a horrific scene earlier in which a child was found stabbed to death, while another was found with critical wounds at 789 Highland Street just before dawn on Thursday.

Juan Bravo-Torres, the father of the two girls, was identified as a person of interest in the case. Bravo-Torres was found at the scene in critical condition, suffering from “what appear to be self-inflicted knife wounds,” according to Longwood police.

Authorities were notified of the incident after the 12-year-old girl, who had been stabbed multiple times at the home, walked to a nearby McDonalds to ask for help.

The case continues to be an active investigation.
