A 40-year-old Orlando man was killed after the motorcycle he was riding struck the back of a vehicle that was stopped at a red light.

The fatal accident occurred on Wednesday, July 20, at 4:27 p.m. near the intersection of Clarcona Ocoee Road and Lakeville Road.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Clarcona Ocoee Road on a 2022 Honda CBR 1000RR. As the motorcyclist approached Lakeville Road, he failed to slow down or stop for a red light, leading to a collision with a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta that was stopped.

After the collision, the motorcyclist was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Jetta, a 29-year-old Orlando woman, was transported to AdventHealth Apopka Hospital with minor injuries.
