Orange County officials will offer free sandbags for residents next week as part of the county’s effort to prepare the community for storms.
Beginning Sunday, July 24, the government will host five self-serve sandbag programs at different park locations across Orange County. The program is free, open to all Orange County residents, and will run through Sunday, August 7 at the following locations:

Downey Park – 10107 Flowers Avenue, Orlando
Bithlo Community Park – 18501 Washington Avenue, Orlando
Meadow Woods Recreation Center – 1751 Rhode Island Woods Circle, Orlando
West Orange Recreational Complex – 309 S. West Crown Point Road, Winter Garden
The bags and sand will be provided, with a limit of 10 sandbags per household. Residents must bring their own tools and shovels to fill the bags, as well as a valid ID.
All sandbags will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. All sites are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
