A person who may have been sleeping on railroad tracks in Osceola County was killed after being run over by a train early Sunday morning.

The incident took place around 3:17 a.m. on Sunday, July 24, on the railroad tracks south of E Carroll Street, between E. Donegan Avenue.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, the train was traveling southbound on the number 1 track.

The pedestrian, who has not yet been positively identified by FHP, was laying their head on the railroad track as the train approached. According to the report, it is unknown if the person was sleeping on the track.

The train ran over the person and came to a complete stop on E. Donegan Avenue. The two occupants of the train, a 46-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, were uninjured in the accident.
