Gary Lee Showe, age 70, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. Gary was born on August 26, 1951 in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Gary moved to Florida in 1981 and immediately began a long career passionately focused on improving the lives of Orange County citizens. His primary role was in reviewing development plans and ensuring that they were constructed in a way to preserve the property values and lives of those purchasing those homes. Although he worked behind the scenes, he improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of homeowners in Orange County. He served for Orange County Government for 35 years before retiring in 2016. His legacy in the Orange County community will be felt forever. Besides his passion for public service, he was a passionate Corvette owner participating in the Central Florida Corvette Club for decades.

He was also a dedicated father and grandfather, always passing on his wisdom and life experience. He was always there for anyone who needed him, and never said no to anyone needing help. His love and passion for his family, public service, Corvettes, NASCAR, and the Yankees will be remembered and treasured as a gift to everyone that got to know Gary.

Gary will be greatly missed by his son Jason Showe, his daughter in law Erin Showe, his grandson AJ Showe, his sisters Dot Kemmet and Mary Beard, his niece Amy Ernst and her husband Ed Ernst, his great-niece Emily Ernst, and his feisty puppy Yogi.

The viewing will be held at A Community Funeral Home, 910 W. Michigan St, Orlando, FL 32805 on August 4th from 5 PM to 7 PM.

The service will be held at A Community Funeral Home, 910 W. Michigan St, Orlando, FL 32805 on August 5th at 10 AM. This will be followed by a graveside service held at Orlando Memorial Gardens at 5264 Ingram Road, Apopka, FL 32703.
