The Longwood Police Department is hosting its annual back-to-school event this weekend.
The event takes place on Sunday, July 31, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Longwood Community Building, which is located at 200 W Warren Avenue in Longwood.
All 450 backpacks are filled with school supplies and a gift card rom Shoe Carnival. Backpacks are first come, first served.
The first 100 kids will get a free haircut as well.
Officers will be grilling hotdogs and hamburgers, and chips, popcorn, and drinks will be available as well. In addition, there will be ice cream from Nan and Pop’s and snacks from Publix.
The event will additionally feature a DJ, cornhole boards, a bounce house, and a kid’s zone. Bicycles and Chromebook laptop computers will also be given out periodically throughout the event.
