Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) State Trooper Car

One person was ejected from a vehicle and multiple others were critically injured after a two-car accident on County Road 340 on Sunday evening.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place at the intersection of State Road 47 and CR 340 at around 6:45 p.m. An SUV being driven by a 23-year-old Deltona woman was traveling west on CR 340 when it failed to stop at the road’s intersection with SR 47.

A pickup truck being driven by a 27-year-old Georgia man was traveling north on SR 47 when it was struck by the SUV on its right side. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, causing one passenger to be ejected.

The driver of the pickup truck sustained serious injuries, while the driver of the SUV sustained critical injuries. Two occupants of the SUV, a man from DeLand and another from the United Kingdom, sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.

A third occupant of the SUV, a 22-year-old woman from Orange City, sustained critical injuries in the crash.

All of the injured persons were transported to UF Health by ambulance, while the driver o the SUV was airlifted.
