A DeLand man who spent 10 years behind bars for drug charges, was arrested while on probation after he was caught with hundreds of grams of drugs, a gun, and over $9,000.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, 57-year-old Victor Edwards was arrested this week following an investigation during which multiple undercover detectives made drug purchases from him.
On Wednesday, multiple drugs were seized from Edwards, including Buprenorphine pills, MDMA, Oxycodone pills, over eight grams of crack cocaine, and over 650 grams of cannabis. Authorities also seized a gun, ammunition, and approximately $9,185.
Edwards was previously convicted of armed trafficking in cocaine and other charges that landed him in prison for ten years. After serving the decade, Edwards was placed on probation and not scheduled to be released until 2035.
Edwards faces a slew of new charges, including possession of crack cocaine, MDMA, and other drugs, as well as possession of ammunition and a gun by a felon.
The case was investigated by the West Volusia Narcotics Task Force, which is a street level drug task force comprised of members from the Volusia Sheriff’s Office and DeLand Police Department.
