The Sanford Police Department seized over three dozen bags of fentanyl and multiple other drugs from a man who was stopped while riding a bicycle.

On Thursday, August 4, SPD Neighborhood Response Unit officers attempted to conduct a bicycle stop in the area of Airport Boulevard and Woodland Drive. As officers approached, the suspect, 36-year-old Dennis Spencer, allegedly fled on foot.

After a brief foot pursuit, Spencer was arrested and his bag was searched. During the search, investigators located approximately 40 stamp bags of fentanyl, three containers with 9.1 grams of cocaine, two amphetamine/dextroamphetamine pills, cannabis, and drug paraphernalia.

Spencer is facing multiple charges, including trafficking in fentanyl and fleeing and eluding law enforcement. His bond was set at $57,500 and his next court date is set for September 6, according to Seminole County Jail records.
