Former Seminole County teacher found guilty for arranging to meet 15-year-old girl for sex

A man who taught for nearly twenty years at Oviedo High School, was found guilty by a federal jury for arranging to meet and have sex with an undercover officer that was posing as a 15-year-old girl.

A federal jury found 51-year-old Dennis Lee Line guilty of attempting to coerce a minor to engage in sexual activity this week.

On February 9, 2022, Line met who he believed to be a 15-year-old girl on a dating application. Through messages, Line initiated a discussion about sex and arranged to meet with the girl so that he could perform oral sex on her and teach her about sex, according to court records.

Line agreed to meet the girl in Orange County after he left his job at a local theme park. Upon arrival, Line was arrested by undercover officers who had posed as the 15-year-old girl online.

Line, who is from Winter Springs and taught at Oviedo High School from 2001 to 2019, faces a minimum of ten years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced on November 2.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and Orlando Police Department.
