Mary Jane (MJ) Gresko, 62, of Chuluota Florida passed away peacefully into God’s Loving Care on Sunday, August 7, 2022. Born in Trenton NJ on 13 April 1960, Mary Jane was the youngest female out of 8 children to Peter and Anna Gresko. She attended and graduated from Trenton Central High School. A true “Jersey Girl”, MJ enjoyed going crabbing and spending time at the Jersey shore.
Predeceased by her parents, Peter and Anna Gresko, her sisters, Ann Wade, Rose Marie Smieszek, brothers, Thomas Gresko and Francis Gresko she is survived by her sister Susanna Kochy, brothers Peter and wife Margaret Gresko, Joseph and wife Kathy Gresko and fiancé and life partner of 30 years Yuri Machnowsky along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
After High School MJ was gainfully employed by the Trentonian News Paper. MJ quickly rose to a management position in the Circulation Department. MJ held the position of Circulation Operations Manager.
MJ followed her heart and moved to Florida in the summer of 1994. She was employed by the Orlando Business Journal in Orlando FL as a Circulation Assistance and quickly was promoted to Circulation Manager. Subsequently, MJ was employed with AT&T Mobility in Orlando.
In her early forties, MJ decided to make a career change and go to college. She attended the University of Central Florida (UCF). MJ excelled in her studies, quickly navigated the age barrier and easily assimilated in the college environment and established many new and lasting relationships. Mary Jane was conferred the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Management Information Systems in August 2002.
Mary Jane was hired by the Army Contracting Command-Orlando (ACC-ORL) in July 2008. MJ was part of the US Army Contract Specialist Internship Program. With hard work, diligence and perseverance MJ rose to a Senior Contracts Specialist that focused on providing sound business advice and tailored contracting solutions to acquire products and services in support of the warfighter and various stakeholders. She was employed in this position for over fourteen years where she developed cohesive work efforts and established close professional and personal relationships and camaraderie and earned the respect of team members and customers. MJ demonstrated the verifiable acumen in negotiating contract changes, showing versatility and flexibility in adapting to adverse conditions and obstacles and in effectively mediating and tactfully resolving issues and concerns while serving as key liaison between management, customers and contractors. MJ’s leadership, dedication, and coaching and also mentoring of new Contract Specialist reflects great credit upon her abilities. She absolutely enjoyed your profession and was proud to support the warfighter.
MJ was a kind and good hearted person, she faithfully practiced her religion, adored family and was forgiving and never held a grudge. Also, MJ had a special place in her heart of her furry friends. Steadfastly, she would take them for a walk and they unconditionally showed their love and affection to her. Likewise, she always had special treats for them.
Mary Jane courageously battled cancer with grace and dignity. She never complained of her illness. MJ showed strength and resolve, however the cancer was too much for her frail body. She is now in our Lord and Saviors hands.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 2:00 pm., at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 113 Lockwood Blvd, Oviedo, FL 32765.
