Fern Woldman

Woldman, Fern July 2, 1933 – August 16, 2022. Formerly of Buffalo, NY and Cape May, NJ passed away in Lake Mary, Florida surrounded by her loving family.

Fern was the daughter of Rudolph and Gertrude Weinstein and sister of Sonia Cowan. She attended Bennett High School, where she met the love of her life, Sherman Woldman. They built a wonderful life together for over 65 years. Fern founded the Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Western New York with her brother-in-law, Myron Woldman, in 1960. As an empty nester, she obtained her real estate license and began a new career. She was a master at knitting and started Fern’s Handknits, teaching others the craft. Her quick wit, an insatiable desire for reading a myriad of topics allowed her to have in-depth discussions – you knew to debate with Fern, you would lose. Fern’s energy was boundless as was seen at her last residence at Oakmonte Village, signing up to participate in everything from creative writing to arts & crafts. Above all else, she enjoyed traveling the world, experiencing new adventures and entertaining family and friends.

Fern will be missed by his loving family which includes three children, Deborah “Debbie” Case, Scott (and Karen) Woldman, Sabina “Binnie” (and Warren) Muller; four grandchildren, Michael Woldman, Joseph Woldman, Stephanie Snyder (and Daniel Snyder), Jacob Muller and great grandchild, Brie Woldman. She is also survived by her sister, Sonia Cowan (Weinstein). A Celebration of Life will take place later in the year.
