The Florida Department of Health in Orange County has lifted a blue-green algae alert previously issued for Lake Sue.
Blue-green algal toxins were discovered at Lake Sue in a sample taken on August 16 and have since dissipated, according to a site visit and new water samples.
Health officials say the public may resume normal activities in and around Lake Sue, but because of the fluid and organic nature of algal blooms, it is possible that bloom conditions could return.
If you have other health questions or concerns about blue-green algae blooms, or if you would like to report the presence of them, please call the Florida Department of Health in Orange County Algal Bloom Information Line at 407-723-5216 or visit the Algal Bloom monitoring and response webpage.
