A 41-year-old Kissimmee man is facing multiple, felony charges after his home was surveilled and an executed search warrant turned up child pornography.
Dale Meyer Elliott, who was arrested in April in Osceola County, has been indicted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida on three counts of receipt of child sex abuse material and one count of possession of child sex abuse material.
According to an arrest affidavit filed by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Elliott became the subject of an investigation after a detective from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office contacted OCSO about a computer sharing files of child sexual abuse.
The computer was tracked to an IP address that led police to the home of Elliot’s in-laws, who lived next to him and shared an internet connection. A search warrant was executed on both homes and Elliott’s phone was put under forensic examination.
During that examination, which took place in April, multiple sexually explicit photos depicting children were recovered from Elliott’s Samsung S10 phone. Elliott was arrested shortly after the examination.
If convicted, Elliott faces at least 5 to 20 years for each of the first three counts, and up to 20 years in federal prison for the fourth count.
A jury trial is set to begin on Monday, October 31, according to court records, with a pre-trial conference set for Tuesday, October 18.
