Jon H. White

Eternal rest grant unto Jon, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him.

It is with great sorrow and profound loss that we share the news that our beloved husband, brother, uncle, colleague and friend Jon White has passed away in body, but not in spirit. Jon and his wife, Christine, had just observed his one year anniversary – he called it his “Life Day” – of being strong, healthy and free of pancreatic cancer, a rare gift from God. However, God finally wanted Jon with Him. He had an unrelated, unanticipated and sudden internal trauma and three days later, with his wife by his side, he transitioned in a state of Grace, peacefully, without fear or pain … and still cancer-free. His final act of charity: he was able to donate his corneas to allow a blind person to see.

Jon was an accomplished man of many talents and interests: a certified wine expert and manager for Tim’s Wine in Windermere; a three-term President of the Men of Holy Family ministry at Holy Family Catholic Church; an enthusiastic volunteer within his faith community and among dozens of non-profit and community organizations; a great friend to those in need of his skills, optimism and perseverance through physical and spiritual adversities of all kinds. His strength, love and joyful attitude during his journey “sur-thriving” cancer, with the help of family, friends and his incredible cancer team at Orlando Health Cancer Institute, has been an inspiration to all who know him.

Despite Jon’s many interests in wine, in family and friends and in his Church, the mainstay of his life was his cherished wife and life partner of 43 years, Christine. Jon will also be dearly missed by his seven siblings, numerous (great) nieces and nephews and all whose lives he has touched during his 61 very blessed years as a “good and faithful servant” and a man of deep faith.

Jon’s Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 10am followed by a Celebration of Life reflection and reception, at Holy Family Catholic Church Orlando.
