The cost for covered parking at the Orlando International Airport will increase on October 1.
During the regular meeting of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) on Thursday, August 18, board members approved changes to the current parking fee structure, which was last updated in 2017.
The new fee structure will be phased in over the next two years, with the first change coming on October 1, 2022. That change will see an increase in price for Garage C from $17 to $19.
A year later, on October 1, 2023, Garages A, B, and C will cost $21 a day for parking. Economy lots will cost $12 a day, while Valet services will be available for $27 a day.
According to airport officials, the approved changes are projected to increase annual parking revenue at the airport by over a quarter million dollars beginning this fall. Next year, officials believe the changes will result in an additional $2,800,000 in revenue.
In making the decision to change, board members found comparable rates in Miami, Tampa, and Atlanta, as well as public parking facilities across Central Florida.
The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) Board considered several fiscal issues at its August meeting today. With passenger traffic increasing at Orlando International Airport, next year’s budget reflects how the increase in travel activity, enduring surge in inflation and a full year operation of new Terminal C are impacting the Authority’s financial outlook.
