The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has released video of an officer-involved shooting that claimed the life of a 28-year-old Orlando man just moments after his brother was fatally shot by a separate individual.
After responding to reports of a shooting on August 6, the video shows the moment that police discovered 28-year-old Bryan Richardson in possession of a gun at the scene.
The video shows officers as they approach the body of 21-year-old Dylan Jimenez, who was shot and killed at the Heritage Hotel located at 7900 S. Orange Blossom Trail.
As the officers tend to Jimenez, witnesses alert them to the fact that Richardson, who is standing close by, is carrying a gun.
The deputies turn their attention to Richardson and direct him to drop his gun, which he is seen holding in his left hand.
After a brief struggle, Richardson turns his back and is fired at multiple times by a deputy.
Richardson and Jimenez were pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
According to police, the brothers were originally involved in an altercation with a third man that shot Jimenez. That man, who has not been identified by police, has been cooperating with authorities.
According to the sheriff’s office, the deputy who shot Richardson has been employed with OCSO since 2018. His name has not been released, per Marsy’s Law.
