A popular vegan and superfoods spot was approved for city funds to help pay for façade improvements to its new restaurant.
Purple Ocean Superfoods, which is located at 1110 N. Mills Avenue, was approved meeting to receive approximately $48,130.97 in Orlando Small Business Façade, Site Improvement and Adaptive Reuse Program funds during the Orlando City Council’s August 15 meeting.
The business is currently building out its new storefront system that will feature new signage, landscaping, and a pergola to accommodate outdoor dining, among multiple other changes.
Although the changes are estimated to cost over $100,000, only $77,600 of the project costs were eligible for the program.
Established in 2006, the program provides assistance with costs related to exterior physical and site improvements, as well as safety, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing improvements at a business.
