Stemma Craft Coffee joins growing list of new downtown restaurants, cafes

A new craft coffee spot will open its doors in a few weeks, joining an ever-expanding list of restaurants and cafes calling downtown home.

Stemma Craft Coffee will open a new cafe at 328 N Orange Avenue, right next door to Huey Magoo’s, which opened its doors in mid-August.

The new coffee shop hopes to open on Monday, October 3, according to their Google Business listing.

Although the location is new, the company’s experience in the coffee industry dates back multiple generations. The specialty coffee is grown in the mountains of Nicaragua and handpicked by locals.

“Our goal is to showcase EVERY stage within seed to cup process, and why every person involved is important to our legacy,” reads a statement from its website.

The cafe joins several others that call downtown Orlando home, including Deeply, Credo, and Craft and Common, which was recently named by Yelp as one of the top 100 restaurants in Florida.

It also joins a slew of new businesses that have opened in and around downtown Orlando in recent months.

In August, both 4Rivers Smokehouse and Huey Magoo’s celebrated grand openings in and around downtown. Just down the block from Huey Magoo’s, Takumi Ramen celebrated its grand opening in downtown earlier this year.

In July, Pups Pub opened downtown’s first dog-friendly bar and Parlay opened a sports bar in the former Finnhenry’s. Parlay is located next door to Bell Hop, which opened its new cocktail bar in May. Further south on Orange Avenue at Church Street, 1Up Orlando is nearing completion on its new 80’s themed bar, while High Tide officially replaced Latitudes in July.

Another longtime Orlando bar, Cleo’s Lounge at 11 S Court Ave, is being transformed into Taco Kat, which will feature tacos and multiple types of tequila.

Ding Tea Taiwanese Tea House is currently building out a new space in the recently opened Radius Apartment complex, which was finished construction in 2021.

Multiple other commercial spaces in downtown Orlando are slated for new restaurants and businesses, including the Bumby Arcade, as well as the former Wahlburgers’ space.
