Tree struck by lightning, crashes on Winter Springs home

A tree fell onto a home in Winter Springs yesterday after it was struck by lightning.

On Wednesday, August 31, crews from the Seminole County Fire Department and Longwood Fire Department responded to a home in Winter Springs.

Upon arrival, crews discovered that a tree had taken the brunt of a lightning strike and had fallen on a home as a result.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The strike comes less than two weeks after another lightning strike in Winter Springs claimed the life of a mother.
